For the poet as for the
musician, there is indeed nothing richer in creative inspiration,
more redolent in suggestive potential "images" than the ocean, with
its play of forms and colors that are constantly changing. In an
earlier production, Aurora - Peaceful Dreams, Roland Hollinger had
already initiated a movement stemming from music that favors
release and relaxation and moving towards a more introspective
music rousing "states of meditation". This progress towards
"meditative music" as the author calls it, is still evident here,
where the primordial pulsation of the sea suggests, as soon as one
leaves it, a real interior journey - or Anabasis - a kind of
initiating course whose stages consist of the pieces in this new
production. From Los Angeles to Lhasa, with a tribute to Erik Satie
on the side, this is, however, no new impressionism, but a
materialization in sound of dreams and meditations - the stages of
this journey, projected in musical space and time...
